How We Support

At Cwtch Collective, we understand that no two families are the same. Some families may need practical help at home. Others may need support with meals, comfort items, or simply reassurance that they are not facing this journey alone.

Our Cook, Clean and Care programmes were inspired by our own experience of childhood cancer and by the kindness we witnessed throughout Wales during Mia’s treatment.

We believe that it takes a village to support a family through serious illness. Our role is to help build that village — connecting families who need support with communities who want to help.

Cook

Nourishing families when they need it most

When a child is seriously ill, everyday tasks can quickly become overwhelming. Between hospital stays, appointments and sleepless nights, preparing meals is often one more thing families simply don’t have the time or energy to do.

Through our Cook programme, we aim to provide nutritious meals, food support and practical help, ensuring families can spend less time worrying about what’s for dinner and more time focusing on what matters most — their child.

“A warm meal is more than food; it’s one less thing to worry about.”

Clean

Easing the burden at home

When childhood illness enters a family’s life, household chores don’t stop. The washing still piles up, bathrooms still need cleaning and everyday responsibilities continue, even when families are stretched already!

Our Clean programme provides practical household support to help create a safe, comfortable and manageable home environment during treatment and recovery.

”Sometimes the greatest gift is simply one less thing on the to-do list”.

Care

Comfort, connection and kindness

A serious diagnosis affects far more than just physical health. Families often experience isolation, exhaustion and emotional strain during treatment.

Our Care programme focuses on the little things that can make a big difference — welcome packs, care packages, comfort items, wellbeing support and thoughtful acts of kindness that remind families they are not alone.

“Because every family deserves a cwtch when they need one most.”
